Day by Day Itinerary

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Later in the evening, we will have a pre-departure meeting regarding the details of your trip.

We will pick you up from your accommodation in the morning and transport you to the airport where we will board a picturesque flight to Lukla (2,800m). Our journey begins in Lukla and continues through the charming village of Chaurikharka before descending to Dudhkoshi Ghat, which is 2,530 meters above sea level, before arriving in Phakding. The pleasant and brief trip we have today will help us adjust to the higher altitude. We can spend our free time exploring the monasteries, such the Rimishung Monastery, and become fully immersed in the customs and culture of the area. This time will also be used as a warm-up for the lengthier trip that lies ahead of us tomorrow.

The following morning, we will continue our hike down the DudhKoshi River’s picturesque northern bank, taking in the breathtaking panoramas that are unfolding in front of us. A number of suspension bridges, including the well-known Hillary Suspension Bridge, will be in our way as we cross the turbulent DudhKoshi River. As we continue, we will ascend through the thick forests to the Sagarmatha National Park checkpoint, where our permits will be registered. We will have our first look at the spectacular Mt. Everest from here, in the midst of the lush vegetation. As we continue on, our steps will lead us to Namche Bazaar, the vibrant entrance to Mount Everest, where we will arrive and take in the essence of this bustling mountain town.

After our breakfast, we will hike up to the Everest View Hotel above Syangboche (one of the highest airports in the world). Enlisted in a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Guinness Book of World Records holder, the hotel offers a 360 degree view of the awe inspiring peaks such as Mt Everest (8848.86m), Lhotse (8516m), Nuptse (7861m), Ama Dablam (6856m), Thamserku (6623m), Kangtega (6782m), Taboche (6542m), and Cholatse (6440m) and various other small peaks. We then hike back to Namche to stay overnight.

Our today’s destination will be the famous Tengboche Monastery, also known as Dawa Choling Gompa, the Tengboche Monastery is a significant Tibetan Buddhist monastery. It holds great cultural and spiritual importance for the Sherpa community. Perched at an altitude of 3,867 meters (12,687 ft), the Tengboche Monastery stands as the largest gompa in the Khumbu region. Its establishment dates back to 1916 when Lama Gulu initiated its construction. The monastery has strong ties to its mother monastery, the Rongbuk Monastery, located in Tibet.

Today, the Tengboche Monastery stands as a testament to the enduring spirit and deep-rooted religious significance of the Sherpa people. It remains a focal point for pilgrims and trekkers alike, offering not only a place of worship but also a tranquil and breathtaking setting surrounded by the majestic Himalayan peaks. The monastery’s rich history and architectural beauty continue to captivate the hearts of those who visit, making it a must-see destination in the Everest region of Nepal.

Leaving Tengboche behind, we will heads towards the charming Sherpa village, Khumjung. The trail leading to Khumjung is a mix of steep descents and ascents, adding a touch of adventure to our hike. Along the way, we traverse several suspension bridges, pass through small settlements, and encounter ancient Mani walls adorned with prayers and inscriptions. As we approach Khumjung, the village gradually comes into view, surrounded by the majestic Himalayan scenery. A prominent attraction in Khumjung is the old Buddhist Monastery, where visitors have a chance to witness an intriguing artifact—the preserved Skull of Yeti, the mythical abominable snowman.

After collecting life-long memories of our trip through breathtaking landscape of the Everest Region that is etched deeply into our hearts, we retrace our way back to Monjo.

Today is our final day of walking where we will pass through a variety of settlements and forests before an undulating climb to Lukla. It’s a time to relax, soak in the memories of the truly remarkable days we’ve experienced, and embrace the unique culture and traditions that have enriched our adventure.

Bidding farewell to the mountains we will board a flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we will drop you to your respective hotels.
