After completing the necessary border formalities at Nepalese immigration, embark on an adventurous uphill drive, enjoying the breathtaking Nepalese countryside. Your day concludes with an overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Embark on a day’s drive to the highest plateau in the world, offering mesmerizing views of the Tibetan landscape. Experience the sensation of standing on the roof of the world as you traverse the majestic Tibetan plateau, where you can witness the grandeur of the Himalayan ranges, including Mt. Cho Oyu (8201 M) and Mt. Xishapagma (8012M). Enjoy an overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Continue your scenic drive, crossing over the Gyatchu La pass (5,220M), the highest en route to Lhasa via Lhatse. The drive showcases the Tibetan plateau’s vastness and offers views of Mt. Everest (8,848 M). Overnight, you’ll stay at Yak hotel.
Begin with a morning visit to the Panchen Lama’s Tashilhumpu Monastery. Your journey continues with a drive to Gyantse, where you can explore the Kumbum Stupa and Phalkor Monastery. The drive also takes you over the Karola pass (5,010m) and offers stunning views of the Himalayas, including the striking Yamdrok-Tso Lake and the Brahmaputra River. You’ll stay overnight at Flora Hotel.
Devote two full days to exploring the wonders of Lhasa. Your itinerary includes visits to the Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Bazaar, Potala Palace, and Drepung & Sera Monasteries. Enjoy your comfortable stay at a local hotel.
Kickstart the day with an early morning drive to Xegar, where you’ll spend the night at a guesthouse.
Bid farewell to Tibet as you drive to the border and cross into Nepal. Your journey ends upon returning to Kathmandu.
